Information: The American Legion wants to ensure higher education is a possibility for children whose parents have been killed serving our country. It is a civic duty to provide them with equal opportunity. The Legion offers its support through the Legacy Scholarship.
Eligibility: Those eligible to apply for the scholarship shall be the child/children or legally adopted child/children or a child of a spouse by a prior marriage or dependent child as defined by the United States Armed Services of active duty United states military and National Guard, and military reservists who were federalized and die on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. The applicant must be a high school senior or graduate to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is for undergraduate study at an accredited institution of higher education within the United States.
General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program

Information: Since its inception in 1942, the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) has been committed in helping Air Force members and their families realize their academic goals. The General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant program, the center piece of the Society's education initiatives, has been overwhelmingly popular. The value and success of this program is demonstrated in the 102,244 grants disbursed since the first awards were made for the 1988-1989 academic year. Navy-Marine: NMCRS Gold Start Scholarship Program
Deadline: Applications accepted between November 1 and May 1
Information: The Gold Star Scholarship Program provides education scholarships of $500 to $2500 per academic year to pay for tuition, books, fees, room and board. To qualify you must be a child of a Sailor or Marine who died while serving on active duty or after retirement. You must also have demonstrated financial need for assistance. This scholarship is for full time students, enrolled for the entire academic year, and pursuing a first undergraduate degree at a qualifying school. Applicants must maintain a 2.0 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Army Scholarship Foundation
Deadline: Applications may be submitted beginning in February 2016
Information: The Army Scholarship Foundation awards one year financial scholarships (not grants or loans) on an annual basis to qualified and deserving students. The amount of the award ranges from $500 to $2000 for undergraduate studies at an accredited educational/technical institutions. Scholarship recipients may apply to renew their scholarships annually for a total of four years of higher education. Renewal is not automatic, but depends on academic performance and continued academic eligibility. Marine Corps. Scholarship Foundation

Information: Since 1962, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation has been Honoring Marine by educating their children. The Nation's oldest and largest provider of need based scholarships to military children, the Scholarship Foundation pays particular attention to those students whose parent has been killed or wounded in combat or has demonstrated financial need. American Legion Auxiliary: Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship

Information: The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors the Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship to support the children of our warriors. These scholarships are awarded to 15 students annually who excel in academics and volunteer in their communities. These scholarships are for undergraduate study only at a four year accredited college or university, and may be used for tuition, books, fees, room, and board. Candidates of this award are daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great granddaughters, great grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during WW I, WW II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon and Grenada, Panama, Desert Shield/Storm, Gulf War, and/or War on Terrorism.
